The customer
Brink’s Nederland is a 100% subsidiary of Brink’s Inc, an organisation that handles valuables of all kinds in 50 countries. Its main area of operation is private security, transportation of money and valuables, ATM services (maintenance and management) and money processing.

The challenge
IT plays an important role in the service. Applications are constantly being changed to meet client demands. Until recently, Brink’s Change Management was organised using Excel spreadsheets, and some changes took place across departments. That was very difficult to manage. Brink’s looked for an alternative, bearing in mind that it had outsourced its Incident Management and Application Management to other parties.

The solution
Brink’s looked only for a Change Management solution. A full Service Management package seemed too heavy. With the assistance of Logicalis SMC, Brink’s now uses ServiceNow, which is the ideal Change Management solution for the company. It now has a clear view of the workload resulting from the 25 changes that are made every month. And on the strength of the success in the Netherlands, Brink’s has decided to expand the contract worldwide.

The benefits
The management can now make more focused choices, and Brink’s itself does not have to have any knowledge of the management and maintenance of this web application. It also benefits from the flexible charging model. A fixed amount is charged each month for each user authorised to make changes on the system. No charges are levied for employees who only have access to the status information.
