Platform ONE by Extreme Networks

Authored by Mark Rosewell, Solutions Architect Manager, Logicalis UK&I

As a Solutions Architect working with organisations across a multitude of sectors, from Education and Government to manufacturing, transport and retail, we get a front-row seat to the evolving challenges that senior IT and business leaders face.

Whether it’s simplifying network operations, improving user experience, or building a foundation for digital transformation, the conversations almost always circle back to one question:

How do we make our network do more with less complexity?

That’s where Extreme Networks’ Platform One comes in. Recently, my team and I have had the opportunity to learn what this new platform offers, and the feedback so far is clear: it delivers exactly what our customers are looking for.

But first, what is Platform ONE?

Platform One is Extreme’s unified, cloud-native networking platform that integrates management, analytics, AIOps, security, and fabric technologies into one ecosystem. For the businesses we support, it can help transform the network from a maintenance-heavy utility into a strategic asset that drives agility, security, and innovation.

What We’re Hearing from Customers, and How Platform ONE Responds

We need to move faster, but we're too stretched.

With Platform One, provisioning new sites or services doesn’t require weeks of planning and manual configuration. From a single dashboard, customers can deploy policies, push updates, and manage connectivity across multiple environments. Whether they are on-prem, 100% in the cloud, or run a hybrid environment, Platform One helps them scale quickly without stretching their teams even more.

I need more visibility and control without more tools.

IT teams often express frustration over fragmented management tools and blind spots in the network. Platform One addresses this with a centralised, intuitive interface that provides full-stack visibility, from the network edge to the data centre and into the cloud. With built-in AIOps, IT teams get real-time insights and proactive recommendations that improve performance and reduce downtime.

Security is a board-level concern.

We’ve seen firsthand how Platform One’s integrated security model, based on Zero Trust principles, gives peace of mind. It supports segmentation, secure onboarding, and end-to-end encryption, making it easier to enforce compliance while protecting users and data. And it’s all baked into the platform, not bolted later as an afterthought.

We need to reduce complexity and cost.

When we ran a cost-benefit analyses, we were pleasantly surprised by the operational savings Platform One can deliver. Fewer tools to manage, automated workflows, and simplified licensing all contribute to lower total cost of ownership. Plus, the ability to free up IT staff for more strategic work is a major bonus.

How do we stay ready for what's next?

Whether it’s IoT, AI-driven automation, or edge computing, the customers we are working with are planning for the future, and Platform One is ready. Its open, API-driven architecture means it can integrate with existing tools and support emerging technologies without requiring a full rip-and-replace.

Key takeaway

Platform One resonates because it solves real business problems by addressing the pressures businesses face, while championing their priorities:

  • Agility
  • Security
  • Visibility
  • Simplicity

Transform your network into a growth enabler.

Extreme’s Platform One isn’t just a technical upgrade; it’s a long-term strategic decision.
