What’s your favourite part of the job?

Being in Marketing, you get to mix with a lot of different departments, and I’m such a people person, so getting to interact with different people across the business is really interesting for me! It’s great to hear how other people have got to their position and how what they do helps the company and our customers.

What did you want to be when you were young?

Growing up, I wanted to be someone that tested out rollercoasters! I’ve visited many theme parks over the years, and so far, there has only been one ride that has actually scared me! Although - I loved every second of it, and would definitely go on it again, so it couldn’t have been that bad!

What is your best WFH tip?

Taking regular breaks throughout the day if you can. Simple things like making a cup of tea, hanging out the washing, going for a walk, even if it’s just for 10 minutes - getting away from the screen really helps me to refocus.

What’s something interesting you have done during the COVID-19 lockdown?

I attended a four-day online marketing course! It was great to renew and extend my knowledge but also to learn from other people about their experiences and how other businesses outside of the tech industry were dealing with the COVID-19 world.

How have you acted as a role model to other women in business? And what do you think would encourage more women into technical roles?

The tech industry is constantly evolving and shaping the way the world works, and so there are many new opportunities becoming available that are new to everyone. I have been fortunate to have worked for and currently work with many strong female leaders, and I hope that one day I can be that role model for somebody else making their way into any industry.

Congratulations to all of the very worthy shortlisted nominees who have worked hard to be in a position where they are considered for such a prestigious award. We’re looking forward to this year’s virtual awards ceremony on 14-15 October, where we’ll find out who will be lifting the trophy!
